b) what was the version prior to the latest version ?
Any good book suggestion for option - b
Is there any book which is two in one, i mean both for learning and as well as preparation of exam ?

a)EJB2.1
b)No book so far as I know. Read HF EJB and then cover BMP from other book.
Please get comments/suggestions from other ranchers.

Does Head First EJB cover EJB2.1 ?
HF EJB aims to provide exam info for SCBCD, it is NOT a book that discuss EJB technology.
