�uncommon� methods declared in the javax.ejb.EJBContext interface

I understand that we only have a method in a parent class/interface only if it is a common method for all its children class/interface.

But then why are there so many �uncommon� methods declared in the javax.ejb.EJBContext interface ?

getEJBHome(), getEJBLocalHome()... can�t be used by MDB (because MDB has no client interfaces like home and component interfaces).
getUserTransaction() can�t be used by EB (because EB must use CMT).

Why ?
