Need expert opinion on

If hibernate 3.0 will be implementation f ejb 3 specs
will cmp, cmr and all entity related concept go on toss?

if thatz true, does it make sense to go for scbcd now and slog for understanding cmp and cmr.

Mostly ejb 3 will become more popular in 6 months, and cmp/cmr concepts itself will be history.

Please advise if this is right time for scbcd or shall I wait for ejb 3's popularity ?

Thanks & Regards<br />Chetan

This topic has been beaten to death in the following discussion:
Advice to those planning to take the SCBCD

Please refer to the above discussion and don't hesitate to come back if you still have some doubts after that.

Thank you

Thanks Valentin for the good discussion link.
I guess last may there was a bloodbath on java ranch

After reading the discussion and other articles, I still feel that SCBCD will be a good thing to go for.

If you look at the topics covered in SCBCD

1. RMI Behavior
2. Session Beans
3. Entity Beans
4. MD Beans
5. Security
6. Transactions and so on

The Hibernate part will only be covering Entity Beans, and Transactions.
Secondly, if hibernate is to implement ejb 3.0 specs then transactions will finally have to link to OTS by using DD's.

Mostly caching concept will be a new addition to ejb 3.0.

Please confirm, if my assumptions are right and doing SCBCD will still help understand RMI, Session Beans, MDBs, security and other concepts and these concepts will be still available in ejb 3.0.

If this holds true then hibernate will be changing only say .... 20 to 30 % of scbcd coverage, and I am ready for that bargain.

May be that's the way people start in this board now-a-days. Asking this question.. Even I did the same. And to me also, Valentin replied. (who is alway the first one to reply to this topic )

Whenever I see the topic 'EJB 3.0' I stop, read Valentin's reply, have a good laugh and continue!!

I agree. Here's the link:
