RI actually denotes Sun One App Server.

Thats the post J2EE 1.3's brand/marketing name to me. Besides, there're numerous specifications around, not just the EJB, so RI strictly speaking does not apply only to the "Sun One App Server".

I'd agree with Nick that RI meant Reference Implementation. This is the correct meaning of it.

I assumed that we are talking about references of RI in HF-EJB. Hence the generalization on my part.
