Are there plans to upgrade the SCBCD test to the EJB 3 spec?

Thanks,

Paul Croarkin
SCEA 5, SCWCD, SCJP

Undoubtedly. Two caveats:

1) Don't expect the new exam anytime soon
2) Given how large the difference is between EJB 2.x and EJB 3, I doubt there'll be an "upgrade" exam.

This question has been asked for several times, do a simple search for previous discussions using the keyword EJB 3.0.

In short, Kathy, the moderator as well as the exam creator, has said that there is no plans for upgrading from EJB 2.0 to EJB 2.1 due to small difference in the core structure.

For EJB 3.0, as the specification is still under public review and it is not expected to be released till 2006, you might expect vendors require some time to implement the specification, the new exam for EJB 3.0 should be come out around end 2006 or 2007.

One of the hottest discussion about EJB 3 was this

The bottom line: don't worry EJB 3 will not become mainstream before at least one or two years, so you can safely go ahead!!!

However, do notice that EJB 3.0 specification is still under public review, and thus, it is NOT supporting the finalized EJB 3.0 specification, and it is danger to develop applications using EJB 3.0 in this moment as the specification might be changed.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
