dear ranchers
one of my frends told me that taking SCWCD certification first is more appropriate than SCBCD ..

Kindly help to spot the distinction as i am in my first stage of learning J2EE !

Though these certifications can be taken in any order, if I were you, I would first take the SCWCD. Because its more logical to read about web servers and web components first before going on to EJB's. Not only is the SCWCD easier than SCBCD, you'll also learn more as it covers a wider range of topics. You'll learn about enterprise design patterns, for example which would give you a broad understanding of how J2EE applications are architected. I feel that doing the SCWCD first and then SCBCD is more logical.

yes, the Head First book is one of the best and has been written with the exam in mind. You can also put your knowledge to work easily

Head First is the best book available for the SCWCD exam, its amazingly clear and concise in explaining the concepts and its also very entertaining to read. Its a very good book to learn Servlets and JSP even if your are not preparing for the Sun Certification exam.

Hope this helps,
Liyaquat
