Disabling Annotations while compiling

Suppose a developer has put the annotations all round his code , but at some stage , may be my project demand later , that I don't want to use annotations at all because some of its drawbacks.
Now for that is there any way to disable annotations while compiling by setting some command line switch like we do for assertion enabling and diabling.
Apologize if I have put a question in wrong forum but as
3.0 is heavily using this , I am putting it here.
