Doubt abt CMR (Local interfaces)

Hi
if we have CMR then we should use local interfaces.
My doubt is if table inside database is remote itself then how can we access this table using local interfaces.

Because who access the database table is the container not the EJB client.

But Local interfaces cannot acesss remotly they are used for local access.
Please forward me any link if you can so that i will able to understand concept properly.
