Hi All,

I've just passed the exam this morning.
I answered 8 questions wrong.

Almost 50% of the questions were about JPA.
Just 1 Drag&Drop question (I'm lucky because this type of question can't be reviewed!)
4 questions about Security (I failed 3: for me it was a difficult part of the exam).

I studied 1 year (only during free-time, at work).
I used:
- O'Reilly EJB3: Very good introduction to EJB3
- EJB3 Specs: my only reference
- Enthuware Mock exam: Very good and close to the real exam

Many thanks to all of you: This javaranch forum was my best help !

Hi Benot,

Many Congratulations

Hey you didn't used EJB in Action, Don't you feel you should use EJB in Action if you are using O'Reilly EJB3?

I am also using O'Reilly EJB3 and not EJB in Action so what you think is it sufficient? Or should i go for EJB in Action also.
Please Reply.

Thanks and Regards,
Alim

Hi Benoit

Congrats !!!

You definitely deserve it ..

Benoit just one question did you read Mikalai Zaikin`s "SCBCD 5.0 Study guide"
or just only the EJB Specs.

And did you do any practice codes.(EJB programs)

Thanks

Hi All,

Thanks for your messages.
I didn't used "EJB in Action" because I needed only one book to read as introduction (and I choose O'Reilly because I know this editor and I have confidence).
Then I used the specs directly as they are the reference and are really clear, well written and easy to understand.
I think other books or notes (like Mikalai Zaikin) are just recompilations of the specs.
I think they can be helpful but personally, when I understand the main line, I prefer study the details with the specs.

I work with EJB in my job and I wrote little examples (1 EJB + 1 Interface + 1 Client) to verify some points (exceptions, BMT MDB without commit, etc...)

Congrats Benoit.

you have done a great job.

Even i am preparing for the exam.Actually how was the exam level was it really tough or easy. And i downloaded all three spec.is it necessary to read all or just the core and persistence alone is sufficient.

Hi latha selva,

You need to read only Core and Persistence Specs.

And for me, as I prepared it for one year, the exam was quite easy.
I recommend the use of an exam simulator.
It was really helpful and helped me acquire confidence: I went to the exam without stress.
I used Enthuware's one.
