I tried with GlassFish, but i am not able to configure it.

Please, let me know how to configure GlassFish for EJB.
if you can, tell the steps what you did in your system to configure GlassFish.

Thanks In Advance.

i did the thing in the material, but its saying following message and server is not starting.

C:\glassfish\bin>asadmin start-domain this was the command i used.

Domain directory C:\glassfish\domains is not a directory or does not exist.

Hi,

I'm using glassfish + netbeans bundle, just install it no need to configure anything, then you could start coding EJBs.

Which version of netBeans do you use?

Hi kurt hanni,

i started the server after installing the bundle(netBeans+GlassFish).

server is up and running.

but i saw some thing different in HF EJB Book "Deploying tool"

how to deploy the Bean that you have created.

In deploying tool we are selecting the Home Interface, Component Interface and the Bean class.

where to do all this thing.

Any material for this.

The samples in HFEJB are for EJB2, its outdated and completely different from EJB3.

If your going to follow the samples in Head First it would be a totally different approach, much harder and complicated.

you should read a different book for EJB3.

Hi kurt hanni,

preparing for certification means we should know some detailed thing know. thats why i am asking all his details.

if we use netbeans or other IDE, it hide the complexity and detail of how the thing works together.

i need to know all this details.

please dont mistake me for saying like this.

then which book should i follow for EJB3.0

do reply.

Hi Bennet,

You can read "EJB3 In Action by Manning" or "OReilly Enterprise JavaBean 3.0", you'll see its completely different (ex. no more home/component interfaces to implement... ).

I dont see using netbeans hiding the details, it just automates most of the coding for you, but you can still see all the implementations.

thanks.

Hello,
i am also very new to EJB , infact just 3 days old.. got the book EJB 3.0 in Action, by Debu panda.. it is awesome book and have understood many concepts...and moreover EJB 3.0 is very very easy compare to EJB2.0 , no home interface etc, no xml descriptor..infact EJB 3.0 is just like POJO(Plain old java object) with a small difference... 1 yr back i had started EJB 2.0 and continued for 1 month, it was too complex so i left..now after 1 year i have started EJB 3.0 and already grasped many concepts.... I think even deplying would be easy, i haven't tried yet will try once i finish the book..
