Hello, I found out that there is no any official guide for EJB 3 and SCBCD 5.

I got next stuff, please recommend which one is useful, which no need to be red.

1. Mastering Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 RIMA PATEL SRIGANESH
(currently reading)

2. EJB 3 in action (Debu Panda...)

3. Beginning ejb 3 Application development
(Raghu R. Kodali ...)

4.The Java EE 5 Tutorial Third Edition

also old SCBCD 310-090 guides:
5. SCBCD Exam Study Kit: Java Business Component Developer Certification for EJB

6.Head First EJB (Brain-Friendly Study Guides; Enterprise JavaBeans)

Hi there,

Usually the people recommend the book
- O'Reilly, Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0, by Bill Burke, Richard Monson-Haefel
I read it and it is very good.

I'm finishing my studies for SCBCD 5 (reading the specification now) and I used the following books/articles

- I bought the O'Reilly books, but until it arrive at home, it takes 1 month (cuz I'm from Brazil and I bought in the Amazon). Meanwhile I read the free pdf Matering enterprise JavaBeans 3.0. It gave me a good background, but certainly the O'Reilly's book is better

- I bought/read the Pro EJB3 Java Persistence API - APress book. It gave me a excellent acknowledge about JPA.

- I read the MZ's study guide (in my opinion it was the best study resource). You can find it here: http://java.boot.by/scbcd5-guide/

- And finally (I'm reading yet), the core specification. I'm not reading the whole documentation, only the chapters said here: http://www.coderanch.com/forums/

- You can try some mock exam as well (I bought the enthuware).

Good luck

First the Specs and then MZ's notes.

I didn't have time to read the specs, I got a free voucher from Sun which had a very short expiration date.

MZ's notes were life saving!

Nowadays I read the O'Reilly's EJB 3.0 book. It is a good resource and a comprehensive one too.

O'Reilly's EJB 3.0 book and EJB 3.0 SPEC are enough to clear the EXAM...
