Hi all,

I am trying to run Jboss with JDK1.6 but it doesn't start the jboss.
Jboss version: 4.2.3GA
JDK version: JDK1.6.0
JAVA_HOME = C:\jdk1.6.0_03
JBOSS_HOME=C:\jboss-4.2.3.GA

when i double click on "run.bat" on windows it doesn't start the jboss neither it throws any exception? It seems that these 2 combinations doesn't work ...can any one please confirm which combination works(like JBOSS4.2.3GA WITH jdk1.4 or 1.5 or 1.6)

JBoss-4.2.3 GA does work with JDK1.6. Do this:

- Go to command prompt and run the run.bat file
- If some error is shown on the command prompt, post it here.
- Also post the output of:

I tried on my office PC , after downloading JBOSS4.3.0-GA AND JAVA_HOME C:\jdk1.6.0_04..it started the jboss when i double clicked on run.bat.

Will investigate further why it failed on my personal laptop and post here.
Thanks for your reply

Hi i am unable to run Jboss on my laptop, not sure what is the reason

D:>echo %CLASSPATH%
C:/JAVA;c:/Servlets+JSP;C:\java\mysql-connector-java-5.1.5\mysql-connector-java-
5.1.5-bin;C:\jdk1.6.0_03\jre\lib\ext

D:>echo %JAVA_HOME%
C:\jdk1.6.0_03

D:>echo %JBOSS_HOME%
C:\jboss-4.2.3.GA

WHEN i go to jboss-4.2.3.GA/bin and double click "run.bat" file the dos window opens and in fraction of second it closes without starting jboss server

Has any one faced this probleM? please help me out on this

Do not double-click on the run.bat. Instead, go to command prompt and run the run.bat command. The command prompt will then display the error.

If you are seeing any error related to 'findstr', then see this FindstrCommandNotFound

Hi Jaikiran,
you are absolutely correct, when i run "run.bat" from command prompt i get the error as 'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I set the PATH to D:\WINDOWS\system32 and started working

Thank you very much for your help, this was my starting step for SCBCD and was really worried. Once again thanks

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
