Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out how much time I'd need to study for the exam. I know it depends on many factors, but any general idea?
And, is there ever going to be a book for the exam? I know it's all in the specs but it'd be nice to have it all in a book, with examples and explanations.
Thanks,

It all depends on your exp. with JSP and servlets but normally 3-4 weeks should be enough.

as deepak stated, it depends on your current servlet/jsp experience. but, it also depends on how much time you have to prepare each day.
i share your frustration about not having any "certification books" to study and was a little slow getting started because of it. a great starting point for me was to read through some of the rancher's notes ( Miftah Khan, Ken Zrobok ) just to get an idea of what i need to study.
my time estimate for the exam? well, my guess is it's going to take me half the time it did for the scjp2 exam.
hope this helps,

Thanks guys. From what I had seen posted I was guessing it would take about 1 month, which means it might end up taking 2 months. I'm studying full-time.
It's a great tip to start from the notes, it makes complete sense. I'm taking the Sun J2EE tutorial and am going to read the notes before I jump to the books.

If there is anybody who passed and who did not have prior knowledge of Servlets and JSPs, can you please tell me how much time it takes to study and appear for the exam? Thanks in advance.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
