Hi ranchers
yesterday i cleared SCWCD exam with 91% ! cheers for me !
thankx you all out-there , who have contributed to this forum

RESOURCES USED
I used the regular resources :
- Servlet-Spec { A++ }
- JSP-Spec { A+ }
- JSP-reference { A++ }
- Servlet/JSP API-DOC { A+ }
- Java Server prog , J2ee ed , wrox publications ( chap 7 to 11 ) { A }
- Velmurugan Notes ( basically Miftah Khan's + Michelle's Notes ) { A++ }
- Ken's Notes { A }
- My own note's diary { B-- ! lol }

MOCKS
Mock exams i given :
-Eduardo Cobian mock ( difficult than original thing , i got 50% just 4 dayz bfore the exam !! )
-JavaRanch's mock ( easier than the original exam )
-Sun's sample q ( too easy )

SUGGESTIONS
One thing , i have read so many feedbacks here , sugeesting ppl that memorizing/mugging-up things help more than anything .
But i am not of the same viewpoint . As for me personally i lost that mugging-up-ability in the school itself , i tried to memorizine some things in the final moments ,but was not of much help i tell you .
Instead the things which i messed-with by writing code , and checking them with actually running them , i was instantly able to recall them in the real exam ( even those things which i coded & ran 3-4 weeks ago ! )
My approach was to read one chapter from servlet-spec , then related API from the API-doc on same topic , and then try some examplez or write my own servlets/jsp and check them on server ( I used Resin and Tomcat servers )
I assure you , this help much much more than anything else , you wont need to mug-up which method belong to which class , or which class belong to which package . Instead you ll be able to make that up from the name itself , once u get going.
Second , Dont take desing-patterns lightly. I did , and i was tinkering my head on these q during the exam .
I read from the regular Sun's tutorial on j2ee desing pattern , ( read MVC from ken's notes ) . But it aint enuff
try to do some examples, some sample scenarios . I donno where can we find that. may be some book .
( as for me , for almost every pattern-q in the exam , when i tried to think given scenario as a whole , only MVC would come to my mind ! .lol..lol )
( and yes , there were lot many other design-patterns given as options , even those not mentioned in the objectives ! )
Third , there were lot lot many question from Custom-tag library . More than i ever thought. I guess 18+ question from this topic !
So concentrate on these
( almost , all type-in type question were from this topic only )
Fourth , if you clearly understand that in the translated-class for JSP-page , what goes where , then you are done with 6-7 questions sucessfully .
You should know where goes the declaration/scriptlets/expressions , and where useBean/implicit-variable are residing etc etc
No drag-n-drop question i got
Got some type-in type question , almost 7-8 .
Code-based q were there , but code wasnt long . Only for 3 questions , i had to use exhibit-button .for rest , code-line were <=7
there was one 9-question survey before the real exam . It enquired about how much hold i have in particular JSP/servlet topics.
I do not think my answer to this survey affected the way my actual exam questions came up .

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
My thankx goes to Miftah Khan , Michelle , Velmurugan Periasamy , Ken Zrobok for their hardwork put into making great notes .
Also thankx to authors of Servlet/Jsp spec , syantax ref , and J2ee wrox-book .
Special thankx to Eduardo Cobian , for providing mock , when there was no other free . And his mock is a eye-opener for anybody who thinks he is good enuff at servlet/jsp for exm.
Thankx to authors of javaranch's mock , your approach is almost near to the exam.
And thankxx to Carl Trusiak , for maintaining a excellent links page.
Thankx to Tim Duncan , Peter Den haan ( ah ! special thankx , always provided a perfect ans with a practical example ) , Satish Kolli , Morph wang , Win yu , Sreenivasa Majji , Bal Sharma and all other ranchers , who have taken part in great discussions here :-)
Heartly thankx to Ashok Khetan , Francois merlin who replied to my queries by email.
Special thankx to Ashik uzzaman , Reeti Malhotra , Leena rane and Vikas for their wishes and help

Good luck for anyone who is preparing for the exam !

Pradeep , i also gone through whiz-tips for scwcd in final-moments , these were good . Thankxx
Leena , i guess there was some uncaught-exception in their program which made my score to 91 only , otherwise with ur tips i was all-set for even 151 !! lol lol
Ashik , thankx for ur wishes . Best wishes to u as well . It wasnt hard prep in all this time . Infact i prepared casually for 3 weeks , for 2hours/day almost . And put my best things in the final 4 dayz
Bhupendra , right now i am working as freelancer , doing 2 servlets/JSP projects , one avg n one big-one . So next step is to do more projects n look for permanent job . Also in future will look forward to XML certification
Khad , the Eduardo Cobian exam is here : http://www.javaranch.com/carl/SCWCD.htm
