I finished the book, you? There is quite a lot topics the book didn't cover on the Objective. Do you feel the same way?? I am going to go for the notes now. And i think i should buy the 2 mock exam. I thought i wouldn't need it but not sure right now. I know you won one of them. Is it good? must have?

thanks.

Eid Mubarak, FEI. My office was closed so i just got ur post now, sorry to be late to reply.
I have finshed the CORE SERVLETS & JSP awkwardly as i also studied several other books in the meantime. I haven't touched Design Patterns yet. My feeling is the exam will be easy (some of them r really too easy to be asked)...i'll cram the necessary things just b4 my exam....
JWeb+ or SCWCD@Whiz, both are very good but not must have. Rather u may try Eudoara, Anand Chawla's free mocks to practice. If u find that manythings r dubious then i think u should go for one of them. But i coded a lot and am confident to pass the exam. I haven't yet touched JWeb+ or SCWCD@Whiz, i'll c them 1 week earlier than my exam. The problem is that i could not buy the voucher yet, and will buy the day after tomorrow, so i have to wait to appear till 10th January may be.
I think u r well prepared as u have good understanding of programming languages other than Java also. If u r trying to score high(not necessary), then jhave a look at design patterns as custom tag libraries.
Wish u best of ur luck in the exam....

I have been following you guys lately because I am using the same book and having similar questions/problems. The book (to my understanding we are talking about Core Servlets and JSP) does not cover everything. Particularly security, error handling and listeners. I found Oreilly's book on servlet which explains all these. I have SCWCD@Whiz which is good but its quiz sucks as there is no next/previous button and you HAVE to wait until the time for single question (which you specify before starting quiz) is over. I think I will buy JWebplus also since my company will pay for it.
FEI, have you taken the test yet?
Ashik when are you planning to take it?
Could you guys help me with the following:
[1] Is it a good idea to read/learn/remember everything first and then start taking mock tests or follow the iterative process of learn-take the test-identify weaknesses-learn-take the test and so on. Which approach did you guys find helpful?
[2] There is a lot to remember (I hate this). Any hints/tips on remembering stuff? I understand the concepts but it is a day/nightmare to remember tags, usage, attributes, interfaces, methods...
I am planning to take the test by the end of this year. Good luck to you both.
Oh by the way FEI and Ashik Eid Mubarak.

Chintan , i really can't help you.
I will take the exam in 4 days. Right now, i am trying to remember every methods , classes, interfaces thats in the Objective. For me, i am looking for a passing score only.
tip? i dont know. I outline all the methods and classes and interfaces on paper and just look at it over and over again.
Good luck to you too Chintan.
and
Happy x'mas.

Chintan & FEI, thnx for ur nice comments.
I liked the 1st idea of Chintan to understand first and then taking mocks. And we have no other way except cramming the important methods, classes or interface and where they are used. But i think we don't have to memorize all if we can think logically that this class should work for this and this etc...at least upto now i haven'e memorized any. I'll buy the voucher tomorrow so may be i'll appear at around 10th January.
Wish u two successes in ur aims.
