I am looking in this site many people posting they passed the SCWCD exam. Can somebody suggest good books/URLs on design patterns?. Because I want to see some examples how the design patterns getting applied. Thanks in Advance Jyothi
As you might already know, design patterns coverage in SCWCD exam is not indepth. However most people want to study design patterns in depth as they are very important these days. If you are one of those people, check out these two books [1] Core design patterns [2] Design patterns at http://theserverside.com Both the books are great. The second book is free once you register on the website (for free). Hope this helps Chintan [This message has been edited by Chintan Rajyaguru (edited January 01, 2002).]
Thanks everybody for your reply. Chintan, As you said I am very much interested in learning design patterns. As you said now-a-days design patterns are imp. I found in serverside.com 'Design Patterns for EJB'. Is this one you are talking or any other book is there in this web site???. Thanks -Jyothi
Yes, I was talking about that book on theserverside.com. I also agree with James. Sun (the source) would also be a good resource. If you are really interested, go to , http://www.certificationguru.com/javaarchitectresources.html There is a section, "Free Books on the net :". It lists three books on design patterns that are free. On http:therserverside.com did you notice that there is a free book on EJB too (just in case if you are interested in EJB also)?
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
