Hi,
can someone tell me prerequisite for SUN Certfied Web Component developer.
I am asking this question on behalf of my friend, he is SUN Certifed Java Programmer (java 1.1) platform.
Does he needs to get Java 2 Certfication prior to appearing for Web Component Developer exam.
Thanks,

Oops!!! I messed up!
Roopa is right. Here is the sentence from Sun's website.
"The certification consists of one exam and requires Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform status. "
They did not ask for my status ( I think they look it up into their database) and that is why I was under the wrong impression.

I am sure that version 1.1 or 2.0 does not matter for programmer certification. Both versions should be valid to take web component developer exam. If you go to Sun's Developer connection and go to certification FAQ, it says 1.1 certified people are not required to upgrade to 2.0 which I think applies to web component developer exam too.
I apologize for miinformation again.

I checked on my certification page that Sun provides to keep track of my certifications. And I confirmed that the requirement to take the Web Component Developer's exam is to have at least one of the following certifications:
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (1.1) (310-022)
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (1.0.2) (310-020)

If you're curious about your own information, go to https://www.galton.com/~sun_s/login.html and log on. If you've never been there before, you'll need information from one of your Examination Score Report sheets to create a password and gain access.
