For example 'Core Servlets and JSP' by Marty Hall (or the new one 'More Servlets') would be a good choice.
If you don't already own this book, then more Servlets and JSP by Marty Hall is a better choice. - satya
If you are a beginner, I would say try keeping Core Servlers and JSP handy while reading More Servlets and JSP. Core Servlets and JSP is free and covers Servlet 2.2 and JSP 1.1. Don;t forget to install Tomcat and write code.
