Hi everybody!
Just passed the SCJWCD today with 83%. It took me a month to prepare- I read Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages to get back into servlets and jsp. I hardly worked with it at all at my last job and their training sucked big time. I read that book in about a week because most of it was review. Then I was at the book store and liked Inside Servlets, so i read that one- that took another week. Then I read the APIs and skimmed More Servlets and JavaServer Pages because the Inside Servlets book was a bit outdated. Finally I took all the mock exams on JavaRanch. I used Ken's notes as a last-minute review. During this whole time, I was skimming JavaRanch posts (really good stuff). The mock exams here are really good- I don't think I would have passed without those mock exams. I thought it was going to be really hard, but I finished it in a little over an hour. You have to know your DTDs, tags, jsp (there were more jsp than servlet questions), and design pattern questions (but the ones I got were fairly straightforward and easy). Thanks JavaRanch and good luck to all of you!!!

hiya everybody!
Thanks again to JavaRanch! Terence... I have done enough Java certs, and I'm interested in the IBM XML cert. Faiza... I used examples from books to help me out with the tags and dtds. Coding definetly helped- I didn't really understand tags until I made some of my own. I used Miftah and Ken's notes to study design patterns. Good luck!
