Today its my turn to sing the song..I passed the test!!
Thanks to all of you, especially Satya, Manjunath and others for making this forum such a wonderful place to learn.
I prepared for two weeks with about 5 hours of study every day. I used all the notes and resources mentioned in the links page. I used the Servlet Programming book from O'Reilly and Inside Servlets by Dustin C. Read the Servlet and JSP specs about four times. I used JRun and Tomcat 4.0 to satisfy my amateur and academic curiosity... and finally preponed the test since I got tired of reading the same stuff again and again
I felt the test to be quite straight forward. If you know the stuff, you can crack it. No tricky questions, no slippery ground and no ambiguous wording. Just plain simple quiz!
Note to future test takers - You will be presented with about 9 questions in the beginning of the test. These questions will not be used for grading, and are all about your level of technical competency using JSP/Servlets. I have a gut feeling that your answers will be used to pick questions from the available pool so as to best cover what you claim you know very well. If you say you suck in design pattern, chances are, you will get quite easy questions for section 13. Similarly, if you say you are an ace with custom tags, you can expect to see a few tough questions. But trust me, Sun wants you to pass the exam.
Well good luck to all and I will hang around to answer whatever I can
Cheers!

?
For those 9 questions I said that I can ace all and some strange reason I thought I got easy questions

Congrats Ajith !
I bet you could have achieved this with a week's preparation. I see you co-authored Java 2 Certification Passport. What's next then ? Are planning to write a SCWCD study guide now ?
I'll not be surprised.

Congratulations....
I hope that ur experience has helped u a lot!.May be i am also going for exam. But have much less time to prepare .But i still want to go for it with what ever hardwork i can do.I am putting about 7hrs/day and may be more in coming dayz. Can u guide me what at least resourses i go, and what topics must i cover thoroughly.
I am not preparing to score in 90's or in 80's.I'll be happy if i got in 70's .
One more thing is that as u told,

If you say you suck in design pattern, chances are, you will get quite easy questions for section 13. Similarly, if you say you are an ace with custom tags, you can expect to see a few tough questions. But trust me, Sun wants you to pass the exam.

U mean that one should answer 9 questions that he/she is guru.So that he would be getting the easiest paper from SUN Database?.
Bye.
Viki.

Congrats .. Grest score.
Regarding the survey.. i dont think it affects the way we get questions. _ remember reading that in some fine print of the pre-exam stuff given by Sun.
Whats your next step ?
Rgds.

Ajith, congrats man! Was waiting for the news. I remember yours & maha anna's long posts in the old dates of javaranch....golden days those were.... ...and also remember how did you missed the only question in SCJP as typing with quotation in filling gap...
So what are you doing and planning to do next? And ofcourse some guidelines to those who passed or will pass for their future IT career will be valuable to many.
Wish you happy continuation of your journey.
