It is not adaptive. And further more, it appears to at least loosely cluster the questions for each topic unlike for SCJP.

I'll tell you what I think. I took the exam on Dec 26 (got 79%).
At the beginning the exam asks you to rate yourself in different areas covered by the test.
I claim that it then proceeds to ask you more questions about the subjects that you said you knew the least.
