Hello Friends, I am currently working towards preparing for the SCWCD exam. I hope to be able to sit this in about three months. Currently I am working through Marty Halls Core Servlets book and I am also reading the Servlet 2.3 Specification. My question is with regards to the Servlet 2.3 Specification document. In your opinion which parts of the document are relevant to the exam. Do I need to know the whole specification inside out? Best Regards, Mark Fletcher
Well, obviously they can't ask all the questions and fill up with all the information from the Spec. However all the questions are based from both the Servelt and JSP Specs. When I read it the first time, I skipped a couple of sections that I already understood, and the API sections. However, the night before I took the test I read the chapters on the API, and found them to be very useful, and brought me a good number of AHA's that I hadn't understood before. And since you are not taking the test for 3 months, I'd say read the entire Specs 3 times. MMMMMMM! Good Reading!!! Mark
I'm studying for SCWCD and I can't stay awake long enough to read the Servlet or JSP spec from cover to cover. What I like to do is a quick browse of a spec the first time I pick it up. Maybe 20-30 minutes to be comfortable the layout. I'll reference the spec when I code to strengthen my understanding of a topic. This type of repetition works for me. Good luck in your preparation!
