Hi, Ranchers,
I passed the exam on Mar. 09 with a score 88%. Thank you very much for discussing all the related issues on this forum and answering all my silly little questions. I haved learned so much from this forum, special thanks to Anand for the excellent mock exam, and Miftah and Ken for the review notes.
Here is how I prepared for the exam if it is any help for anyone. I studied for the exam intensely for about 6 days (averaged 6 hours a day). I had some previous experience with Servlet and JSP though. I went through "Core Servlet and JSP" book first and did almost all the samples (went through the code provided and run the samples with TomCat). I think that book is good, but it has several differences from the current servlet and jsp specs tested by the certificate exam. Then, I went through the Servlet and JSP spec once and Ken and Miftah's notes each twice. I did not do too many mock exams, did Anand and cobian's, only got 38% on cobians though.
My impression about the real exam: I thought it was much easier than what I anticipated. But some question is really tricky. So READ THE QUESTION VERY CAREFULLY. I did not do well with the servlet part, but I am still not sure what questions I got wrong. Surprisingly, I got 100% on design pattern. There are other design patterns on the exam besides the 4 in sun's objective. But Miftah's notes have a very good recap for the patterns you need to know!!! Review that!!!
ONce again, thank you all for the good discussion here. Good luck with your examss!
