I'm new to Java and just passed my Programmer's certification. Now, I'm ready for the next step. Can I learn what I need to for this exam using WindowsME since it's not supported by J2EE SDK? If not, any suggestions?

Actually, to pass SCWCD, you just need a web server and a JSP and servlet container. You can go to http://www.apache.org to download Apache and Tomcat. If you plan to write some EJBs (not required in SCWCD), you can download JBoss plus Tomcat (http://www.jboss.org)

You don't even need a web server (Apache), Tomcat alone will be sufficient. Make sure you get v4.00 or higher, so you have servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2 APIs.

I heard (not used) that Tomcat and Windows ME don't work well together. But you can use any other java-enabled web server to test servlets/jsp.
Keep going...
