It's a good thought to go for it, but can any expert tell me What all is required to prepare and pass this test? what all does it take to pass the test comprehensively ? any books or other stuff? Thanks
Sumit, the obvious answer is that it depends on the aptitude and background of the person...However, speaking for myself who has a B.S. in Comp Sci / SCJP / 2 kids / and works 9-5; it's just a matter of studying and taking mock exams. It's taken me 2 months of studying off and on nightly, plus some weekends. I'm taking my exam at the end of this month. I was planning to take it this Fri., but felt that reschedule until I score at least 92 or higher on all JWeb+ exams, before appearing for the actual exam. My advice for those looking to pass the exam would be 1) Read and Understand 'More Servlets and JSP' 2) Take JWeb+ Exams until all scores are in the 90's 3) Read the article on Sun's website about design patterns 4) Write sample code as needed. Check out: 'SCWCD Links'' for some study resources. -PP
Better read "More Servlet and Java Server Pages" which is covering the most current features of Servlet & JSP. This is an excellent book. I read it frequently whenever I want to clear something or grap some sample code. Besides, you need to read all Servlet/JSP API; study the design pattern; get familiar with web.xml and tag library descriptor; security design.
Thanks Anthony. I am just wondering that new books for SCWCD cert like from Heller and Manning pub will be sufficient for exam with some online notes? I don't own any book related to this exam so want to buy the book which I will read fully.
