how to set JAVA_HOME in Tomcat4.0.4

Hi,
I have windows2000 operating systen and downloaded j2sdk1.4.1 and also installed tomcat4.0.4.
In the instructions it says
edit install_dir/bin/catalina.bat and change the following:
if not "%JAVA_HOME%" == "" goto gotJavaHome
echo You must set JAVA_HOME to point at ...
goto cleanup
:gotJavaHome
to:
if not "%JAVA_HOME%" == "" goto gotJavaHome
set JAVA_HOME=C:\JDK1.3_01
:gotJavaHome

but unanble to find the above given line
if not "%JAVA_HOME%" == "" goto gotJavaHome
echo You must set JAVA_HOME to point at ...
goto cleanup
:gotJavaHome
in catalina.bat.
Any suggestions as to how i can set JAVA_HOME

Create and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the Tomcat root directory, that is,
1. Right click MyComputer.
2. Click properties.
3. Click advanced tab
4. click environment variables
5. click new
6. variable name = JAVA_HOME
7. variable value = {jdk1.4 install directory, whatever that is, absolute path}
8. click ok
Doing the same, include jdk's bin folder into the PATH environment variable.
Check if you have CATALINA_HOME defined as well.
