Please change the color of the google search result page. I find it difficult to read with the current color.

Is there a way:
1. To search in a specific forum (Maybe add the name of the forum in the search?)
2. Sort the results by date (most recent first?)

I agree with Pradeep.. The color looks really odd and difficult to read the results
please see, whether it can be changed.

with previous search in javaranch your above 2 points were possible, now its not, , there are ways of searching in google, but tiresome,we can come 75% close to what we used to get in before search, that search which used to exist was better.
javaranch should come out with better ways of searching posts in diff forums/dates/sheriff/ ..
lets hope for the best

please use the

tags when showing code. visit <a href="http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=ubb_code_page" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=ubb_code_page</a> ,for more details

1. You can add the name of the forum in quotes (i.e. "Java in General (beginner)") to your search criteria. That may limit the search to one forum It also depends on the name of the forum - Adding the name of this forum (JavaRanch) doesn't help at all.

2. I haven't found a way to sort by date. It doesn't appear to be something that google offers.

Can you be more specific? What part of the page are you finding difficult to read. The results page should be the same color as this page.

I've tried that google search. however feel not good, maybe it's a good tool as well if we've never used that Javaranch search before. Peoples like to compare, right ?
basicly I like the old search because it can search within different thread, search result is listed by the subject and date of posted. very neat.
Just some of my feeling

This page has white background at the top and bottom. The search result page hasnt. Plz put white bg header and footer. The text color in the result page is the one I dont like. The color looks similar to background making it difficult to read.

Change the text color to some other color. Please!
Making these changes should be easy and helpul to javaranchers, I guess.
I not against google at all.In fact it is my # 1 search engine for me. It has rarely let me down.
But using Google in javaranch does not look appropriate to me atleast. We miss the filtering
that previous search provided. Take member id serach for example . Previous search returned accurate results but google search will returns results that not accurate...if member id is found in message body the result is returned in the search. for e.g. id is 20000...message body contains
i =20000;

This I can't do. The whole page must be the same color.

This was done because something is repeatedly crashing our servers. The EJIP folks suspect that it has something to do with the searching, although we don't have proof of that.
If we turn the search stuff back on the way it was before, there is a chance that JavaRanch may be unavailable to anybody for great lengths of time.

The text is black. The links are not black.
