Hello Site administrator! It seems like a lot of bartenders and sheriffs spend a great deal of time dealing with new users who do not provide legal usernames when registering. For example, many people will provide only a first name and leave out the last name. It seems to me that a quick re-engineering of the registration form could solve this annoying issue once and for all. Why not provide a name and surname field separately and make them mandatory? This will force the user to fill them in both and then you join them together and get a legal username. No more problems. For the folks who do not have surnames in their cultures, then they will just have to take a few minutes to invent something. What do you think Mr. Administrator?
In a time of drastic change it is the learners who inherit the future. The learned usually find themselves equipped to live in a world that no longer exists.<br />Eric Hoffer
We are working on switching to Jive, too!!! It was very kind of you to say "we", Tom! Everybody, it's 99% Tom who "are working on switching to Jive, too"! Tom, you are a hero! I should have said it long time ago, but I was embarrassed!
Yes Thomas has put a lot of time and effort into Jive. Sometimes to the edge and back. But we should also thank Jessica, Dirk, Pauline, Matthew Phillips, and Angela. They have put in lots of time too. I hope I didn't forget anyone. Mark
Yes, Tom is the real hero in this. Where he finds the time to do this is beyond me. He has shown a true dedication to making JavaRanch a better place for all of us.
