I have just cleared the SCJP1.4 this week and was planning for SCWCD, But than i came to know it doesn`t cover the EJB(the Hot candidate in the J2EE suit)? Its proved as a discouraging factor for me, As i dont want to do Certifications just for the sake of it. Hav done SCJP only `cause, Its the pre-requsite for the high levels. Where as SCJD, Seems to me as more bright, mainly `cause its not from the kettle of the Begginer Certs. Disclaimer : "I HAVE NO INTENSIONS TO HURT THE FEELINGS OF SCWCD ASPIRANTS" This rich discussion can open up the new ways for many of the confused ones like me.

I started SCJD first, but I completed SCWCD first.

This thread talks quite a bit about the considerable differences between the various certifications. It may clarify a thing or two. Your question is impossible to answer in isolation anyway -- what do you want to do? What kind of job do you have/want to have? What roles do you aspire to? - Peter

I havent done SCJD, but I think SCWCD looks easier!
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
