Is there a minimum time before which you have register for the exam.
I mean if I were to appear for the exam next week, when is the last date that I can register?

You can register for a date, and if you cannot make it, you could reschedule it to another date, atleast for the prometric centers here in US.

Oops.. Forgot to mention that depending on the centers, the if changing the date, the rescheduling should be done atleast one day prior to the date of exam.

Just check the exact time for rescheduling, i think it depends based on some criteria(country?)In Japan you need to notify at least 3 working days before if you want to change ur exam date
