Hi Narasimha,
I used core Servlet and Java Server Pages by Marty Hall to learn Servlets and Java Server Pages and thought it was an excellent book to get me going.

I agree, core Servlets and Java Server pages is an excellent book. Marty Hall actually made the entire book available online.
core Servlets and JavaServer Pages covers Servlet 2.2 and JSP 1.1
more Servlets and JavaServer Pages covers Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2
enjoy!
