This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
Hopefully this important mark will get some good coverage next to Tom's shameless self promotion , but CONGRATULATIONS FRANK! (makes you wonder why Tom/Frank/Map/Cindy etc need the rest of us ) Congrats, Dave
I remember reading a reply by Frank to a question, just after I started coming to the JR. The person in question posted a very looong thread all with code. Frank replied with a very detailed analysis of the code and with suggestions on not only fixing the code i.e. getting it to work, but also with really good suggestions to improve it. His willingness to "run the extra mile" to the help that person impressed me immensely from that day onwards I decided to watch Frank's threads. I suggest you all keep a keen lookout for his threads as well, you can only learn from his willingness to share is knowledge and experience, but one warning it's hard work keeping up with his threads , he is all over the show thanks Frank , for you as well I will take of my v/d Merwe hat [ July 18, 2002: Message edited by: Johannes de Jong ]
Wow Frank!! That's quite a lot of posts and You dont frequent MD too much so they must all be legit You're one of the reasons people come back here after their first visit - keep it up!! umm Jess, why do you have dog drooling on your desk at work?
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I've got a bit more time at the moment after finishing a long-running contract, so I've been catching up on my 'ranching. I seem to have dashed past 4000 posts without hardly noticing Y'all can probably tell I love it here. Thanks to everyone for all those "easy" questions and interesting discussions. . .
