I just install the Tomcat v5.0.16 in Windows 2000. It's running fine as stand alone application. But installing the Tomcat 5 runing as Service Fails on Windows 2000 - It just wouldn't install the service component to the machine. But I have the old version Tomcat 4 is running fine. Of cause, I stopped the v4 first, and start v5 service.
Anyone has any idea about the new version of Tomcat 5 running on Windows 2000 as SERVICE. Any help will be appreciated.

Can you provide any more information about what happens? Do you get any error message, or does the install just die, or what?
Here's a wild guess, with no information.... if you had the Tomcat 4.x installed as a service, you might need to uninstall it first (by uninstall, I mean uninstall the NT service entry, not just delete Tomcat dir) before installing the 5.x version.

Iam also running Apache tomcat 5.0.16
I bet both of your Tomcat 4.0 and 5.0 are trying to use the same ports
Click on control panel
Click on Administrative tools
Click on Services
If you see Apache Tomcat see the description it should say Tomcat 5.0
and status should be started.
And stop the Tomcat 4.x service and then start the Tomcat 5 service.
from the services window.
Hope this helps.
