I took the test and will be awaiting the result in 6-8 weeks.
But since reading this thread i will only give information necessary or the Sun Examiners won't like it and the value of Certification will be lost.
Here is some need to Know information which i got jolted
The exam is 4 hrs not 5 hrs 15 mts as initially stated.
It has 163 questions.
It has multiple choice, single choice , drag drop.
Best of luck folks.
Give the exam early as only X participants in the entire world can give the exam so give it quick.

Hi Manoj,
What was the level of difficulty? Did you get any incorrect or ambiguous questions? Do you think 4 hrs were sufficient for 163 questions?

4 hrs is more than enough for ppl preparing for a month.
Level of Difficulty is intermediate.

Manish,
don't worry, the test took 3 hours for me, so 4 hours is enough.

Hi Manoj,
What was the average percentage breakeout of topics? As mentioned by Kathey in one of the mails, the EL and JSTL will be really tough. WHat's your remark on that?

Hello Mikalai,
Have you already taken the Beta exam? If so, please share your experience.
What topics require more attention and study?
Thank you in advance!

in addition to kathy's remarks i would add For ppl who are already doing EL and JSTL it would be cake walk. But for ppl who just read about it , it would be tough.
So the word tough is relative.
I can be an expert on tags and then feel that the exam is easy, so i don't want to make any remarks on the exam difficulty from my point of view.
I would say that Kathy based her remarks for folks who just memorize, the key word is performance. You have to code and test to Know these subjects.
Mere reading through won't help in this exam maybe for single choice questions but for drag and drop you need to Know syntax very well.
i think i said it all.
Manoj

I was surpised to see enrironment references declaration questions. And EJB references declaration questions. You should refresh in memory DTD for these elements.

Could u please specify what kind of environment references declaration questions? Just as an example... I don't think EJB should be included in the exam too...
Thank you for you guys sharing XP...

I totally agree with you, Mathew. except the testing time. I came into the place at 11:45am and came out at 4:45pm. So, it's 5 hours actually.

I disagree with you on the time it is 4 hrs.
When i started the exam it started at 3:59 to go.
So iam positive it is 4 hrs. Even Mikilai has confirmed.
Maybe you are adding the survey time and the wait time at the centre to your
exam time of 5 hrs.
Iam 110% positive it is 4 hrs.
