in deshmukh book I read in many places like "there must be no space between equals(=) and value". this is regarding attributes.

but for me it is working fine in j2ee1.4 like below

Tomcat is not always compliant with the specifications and that is the problem when you are preparing the certification, sometimes you might think something is right, but it is not...
