Nilsson This book covers SCWCD 1.3 (CX-310-080). I am not sure about this book but if you wana write SCWCD 1.3 then most of the ranchers would recommend following book
SCWCD Exam Study Kit: Jave Web Component Developer Certification by Hanumant Deshmukh
However if you want to write new exam SCWCD 1.4 (CX-310-081) then there is currently no single book available. People are using Hanumant's book and specs to prepare for exam.
Good news is that another book "Head First Servlet" is in the print process and all the ranchers are waiting anxiously for its release. Looking at the history of Head First series people are hopeful that this book will be enough to get you through SCWCD 1.4 comfortably. You can find latest information about this book in This Thread
There are some topics that are not covered well in this Sybex book, if you take 1.3 exam, please consider to read SCWCD Exam Study Kit, published by Manning, or if you take 1.4 exam, please waiting for Head First Servlets and JSP, written by Kathy and Bert.
If you are studying for the 1.3 exam, the SCWCD Exam Study Kit is by FAR the best book. In fact, if you already know servlets pretty well, you *could* use that book even for 1.4, if you're willing to use other resources to learn the other parts of the exam (and you'll probably need to take some good mock exams that are closer to what the 1.4 exam is like--the mock questions in the SCWCD kit are no longer an accurate representation of the 1.4 exam questions, although they are VERY close to the 1.3 exam).
That's not to say you won't have a little more *fun* with our book but to be honest, it would be possible to study from the SCWCD Exam Study Kit and still pass the 1.4 exam, as long as you do some extra work. And that book is also very good for folks who already know the topics and want an exam preparation. Our new book assumes that you do NOT already know Servlets and JSP! So if you are already very familiar with servlets and JSP, and especially the new stuff in 1.4 (EL, Simple Tags, Tag Files, etc.), you probably don't need the Head First Servlets & JSP book, and a good mock exam might be enough.
