This week we're delighted to have Bryan Basham, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates amongst us, helping to answer questions in the Web Component Certification (SCWCD) forum.

We'll be selecting four random posters in this forum to win a free copy of their excellent book, "Head First Servlets & JSP", provided by the publisher, O'Reilly.

Welcome Bryan, Kathy and Bert!

Having purchased both the Head First Java and Head First EJB, I can attest to the quality and usefulness of the Head First Series. I frequently recommend HFJ to new Java programmers. I haven't yet had a chance to see the new book, but I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Howdy y'all!

We've been away for a few days, but you'll be seeing a lot of us this week

Bryan Basham, our co-author, decided to get married last week, at a really amazing ceremony in New York (Bert and I flew out there, which is part of the reason we were gone for a while), so he's still using the "I'm on my honeymoon" excuse, but I think he'll be here this week at least a little bit. Between the three of us, he's really the one with the deepest technical knowledge on these topics (he is a Servlets & JSP specialist at Sun), so we will sometimes defer questions until Bryan can come in and provide the best answer.

Cheers and let's have some fun!

Congrats Bryan!
I hope you three had a beer for each one of us here!
On second thoughts, it's probably a good job you didn't or you wouldn't have made it back here!

You should give the people a choice... because some of them might already have this book (including me). So, rather give a choice between this book and the new one "Head First Design Patterns" !!!

Kathy and Bert, I hope you gave Bryan a bachelor's party before his wedding

Congrats Bryan.. and welcome back the three of you .

Hi all,

Thanks for the well-wishes. It's been a hectic week as I catch up on my day job, HFS errata, JavaRanch, and several side projects. I hope to be more active on this forum from time-to-time.
