I am only just starting to study myself so I am not entirely sure. One way to find out would be to go through the exam objectives on the Sun site and see if the book covers each one.

The new release of the book only covers the basics of servlets and jsp. You need to get a book that covers all the topics in the exam.

In case you dont want to buy any more books, you might consider to read the spec, even those it might be a painful process.
