WAR Files -Help

Which files is mandory in a WAR file. I think web.xml is mandatory. Am I right, please help

You should put anything you put in your web application in a WAR file. Additionally it has a META-INF folder with a MANIFEST.MF file in it, through which you can declare libraries dependencies. This is the only difference with the same web-app deployed as a normal folder hierarchy.
