I'm preparing for the SCWCD exam, and working through EL functions. I've taken the examples in HFS and played around with them, learning how to pass in parameters (using fully-qualified class names, no parameter name in the <function-signature> element), but I'm wondering about passing anything other than hard-coded parameters in. For instance, the following works just fine:

But the following EL function in the JSP does not work:

Is there any way to pass a variable to an EL function?
