This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I took the SCWCD exam this morning and cleared it. If not for the Head First book I wouldn't have. I had planned last January, after clearing the SCJP exam, to spend four months studying for the SCWCD exam but got distracted by 15 hrs of non-Java 4000 lvl ComSci course work. And so... two weeks before the exam I finally got around to cracking open the book. That I passed it after just two weeks of intensively studying the HF Book and only the HF Book (plus having spent the previous four months without Java and in the respective lands of Oracle and C++), speaks to how incredible Basham, Berts, and Sierra are at teaching.
Heartly congractulations. Could you listout names of the books you used for preparation. & also listout sites those helped you out.
The only book I used was the HF Servlets & JSP. Everything you need to know to pass the exam is in there. I think its pretty important to practice writing the code samples and magnet activities in the book - since many of the test questions are so similar.
