What free software is there out there to code web components? What time saving advice can anyone give to someone with java coding experience?

Working with eclipse, is there a way to automate first steps and save development time?

The Eclipse community people are developing no Web Tools project, which goal to help developing web applications in Eclipse. Current version is 0.7, there is no release yet. You can get this project on the Eclipse main site
