I appeared for the exam today and scored 76%.

I must thank javaranch for being a place for all of us to interact on the different topics. And all these discussions help a lot in preparing for the exam.

HFSJ still rocks and there is no denying the fact that book is written in a very nice fashion.

I would like to add that 20% equation between HFSJ Mock and Real Exam still holds. I got 55% in HFSJ mock yesterday and I appeared for the exam today and scored 76%.

Thanks Kathy, Bert and Bryan for writing such an interesting book.

Well, I went through HFSJ twice and used j2eecertificationa jwebplus.

Thanks again to all the members who helped me in understanding all the difficult issues which I posted here.

Thanks

Very nice Kapil.
I remember telling you to revise more, but surely I think that 20% offset might be true.
I am taking the exam tomorrow.

Aruneesh,

Best of Luck for your exam. But do give the HFSJ mock, it gives you a complete idea about your preparation. And I must tell you that the HFSJ exam actually make my brain run at times. The HFSJ exam asks for a lot of brain hammering. So, before giving HFSJ mock, relax and be free from everything for 135 minutes. And take it as seriously as the real exam. It will really help you.

Bert,

Thanks for your appreciation, besides being a low scorer in comparison to other ranchers. But the certification is not about score, its about possessing it. And I must tell that it was a great feeling after passing the exam.

I would like to add here that you, Kathy and Bryan have done an extensible job in writing such a book. I have read the introduction about you all, how from studying AI to writing inventive book was a good step and it is helping so many people around the word. So, something which you all started has paid back bigtime.

The next step will be SCEA and I hope you will be coming out with a very nice book on that also.

Regards

Hi,

You must be aware of this resource named HFSJ. You can have a copy of this book and read it atleast twice. Then you can use Enthuware Jwebplus for mock exams. But the real secret behind clearing the exam is that you must remember all the concepts in HFSJ. SCWCD is not like SCJP, where there is a lot of logical thinking is required. Instead its about remembering the methods in different APIs and what are their return and how to use them at proper locations in the code. yes, there is this EL, which does required some logical thinking as it use operators.

Best of Luck for your preparation

Hi Kapil,
You got a great score..congrats on that.
Can you suggest some other book other than HFS(I think u mean Head First Servlets and JSP's book right!!).I come to know that there is one more book for SCWCD by Hanumant Deshmukh.Which book should I buy?

I've just completed SCJP and wish to take SCWCD within two months. Is this time sufficient?

Please mail me @<satheesh.krishnaswamy@ssaglobal.com> along with ur Valuable advices.
Waiting for the reply in anticipation
