This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of The Mikado Method and have Ola Ellnestam and Daniel Brolund on-line! See this thread for details.
Any class which extends one or more listener interface(around 8 interfaces are available in servlet API) is treated as listener class. If you would like to listen for any event that take place in the container side say session creation, req attribute added or removed and so on..u'll go for listener class. For more details, you can refer to HFSJ book where they've explained these concepts clearly.
Regards, Priya.

run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
