session migration

i have two different site on two different server

http://www.a.com and http://www.b.com

all my site users first comes on a.com.
the user login by entering user name and password.
on successful login i am storing an LoginBean object in to the session as attribute.

on a.com there is a link to b.com
i dont want user to be authenticated again on b.com by entering his user name and password again.

i just want to migrate session object from a.com to b.com
how do i achive it.

I think want you want is Single Sign On. I don't think is possible and good practice to migrate the session from one server to another.

Though technically in terms of web containers, this is not possible.
You could do stuff like persist the session in database, possibly on the other side, do read from the DB, and do your stuff. Just a cheat solution.

Interesting article. I was speaking more from tomcat's perspective, and I had limited knowledge about SSO and Kerberos.
So I should hold back my view.

I will sure read about this, and have it working for two tomcats, and see how it works really.
