Hi Fabio,

I take the exam also on wednesday, and I had the same question. I believe that the questions are weighted according to the mock exam questions in HFSJ.

When you go through all chapters in HFSJ you will find 137 mock exam questions in total (between chapter 4 and chapter 14). This is equivalent to 2 real exams (69 questions). So far I haven't counted the final mock exam in HFSJ but I'll come later to it.

So for now, we have the equivalent number of mock exam questions for 2 real exams.

When you try to map the chapters in HFSJ with the exam objcetives and take the number of mock exam questions in each chapter into account you find the following:

  • 4 Being a Servlet/The Servlet Model - 10 questions
  • 5 Being a Web App/The Web Container Model - 14 questions
  • 6 Conversational State/Session Management - 15 questions
  • 7 Being a JSP/The JSP Technology Model - 15 questions
  • 8 Script-free pages/Building JSP pages using EL and Standard Actions - 18 questions
  • 9 Custom tags are powerful/Building JSP pages using tag libraries - 7 questions
  • 10 When even JSTL is not enough.../Building a Custom Tag Library - 21 questions
  • 11 Deploying your web app/Web Application Deployment - 14 questions
  • 12 Keeo it secrect, keep it safe/Servlets & JSP overview - 9 questions
  • 13 The Power of Filters/Filters - 6 questions
  • 14 Enterprise Design Patterns/J2EE Patterns - 9 questions

  • My assumption is that we will get the following weighting +/- 1:

  • The Servlet Model - 5 questions
  • The Web Container Model - 7 questions
  • Session Management - 7 questions
  • The JSP Technology Model - 7 questions
  • Building JSP pages using EL and Standard Actions - 9 questions
  • Building JSP pages using tag libraries - 3 questions
  • Building a Custom Tag Library - 10 questions
  • Web Application Deployment - 7 questions
  • Servlets & JSP overview - 4 questions
  • Filters - 3 questions
  • J2EE Patterns - 4 questions

  • And I can also proof my assumption, in the way that I took the final mock exam (which should be very near to the real exam) from HFSJ and verified above weighting.

Sorry for this long response but I had to clarify this for myself

    Regards,
    Darya

    Hi Sathish,

I haven't done the final mock exam yet. I am still recapitulating all objectives from HFSJ and do mock exam questions at the end of each chapter and the mock exams on http://www.jdiscuss.com/.

Tomorrow I start with the final mock exam.

... ooh I see why you think I did the final mock exam sorry , what I meant was that I looked through the final mock exam and mapped the questions there to the objectives without solving the questions.

    Hi Sathish,

ok I did the final mock exam HFSJ and got 45/69 right answers. Honestly that makes me a little bit nervous for tomorrow. Another issue was my time used for solving the questions (2hours 30min).

It's really hard to remember all bits and bytes from HFSJ. I'll let you know how it was on the real exam .

    Hi Darya,
    Don't be nervous at all...
You will do great in the actual exam.
The actual exam is very "Standard"...
There isn't any tricky questions (this depends on the preparations)..

I had only 55% on the HF final mock..
I got 85% in the actual exam yesterday...

So, relax...Look and understand your mistakes from the HF final..
    You will be fine...

Good luck with your final tomorrow...

    Esam

    Hi Esam and Mat,

thanks a lot for the well wishes.

I am back from the test center, without making the test because the company which provides the test center does not exist anymore . I had the same problem already with antother company in my city when I went for the SCJD essay exam.

I called Prometric and they appologized for this accident. The problem is that the test sites Prometric offers over its web are not really up to date. I called them and we arranged another test date on friday.

That gives me two more day for preparation

    Hey Darya,

This is the first time I heard that a testing center went missing !!!
But you aleady had the experience once !!
Anyway, hope this doesn't happen a third time

Good thing, you have 2 extra days ...

I would recommend going through all the questions of HF Final Mock exam...
    Have them sorted out ...

Good luck to you and Sathish
I am curious about Fabio's result...waiting to hear about Fabio's result..

    Esam,

thanks again for the nice words . Do you know any 310-081 compliant mock exams except the one from HFSJ.

All I have found so far are for the old exam (310-080).

... I forgot to mention Enthuware (Hanumant Deshmukh) at jdiscuss.com but there are lots of uncertainties in a great number of questions which is very disturbing for me right now.

    Hi Darya,

I acutally didn't have much chances to do a lot of mock exams from web sites
But i did try Whizlabs SCWCD which I think was an overkill.......
I totally focused on the HF coffee crams and the final mock...
Everything is pretty much in there !!!

I had some weaknesses on Custom Tags and J2EE patterns..these finally got me in the actual exam

I lost most of my points on these two...
I have noticed that lotta ranchers talked about these three - EL, Custom Tags, and J2EE patters...
I believe these are three sections that most candidates loose points...
My EL was perfect...but the two were terrible....

So just focus on these three factors...if applicable...

Most impotantly, please focus on the Final Mock of the HF...
    Try understanding every single question.

    Good luck to you again.......
