HEllo guys,

I unfortunately studied for SCWCD with Manning and saw that important things are missing. I don't have time to order book from US and bring to Turkey, so I want to buy the electronic version, can we do it?

Thanks,
Aylin

Computer Engineer - SCJP (%88) - studied SCJP with Sierra and Bates book.

I wonder what important things are missing ?
I also bought Manning's book. Although it is full of annoying typos,
I don't think that such important things are missing.
If you could please explain what is missing, this may help.
Thx.

Even I am following Manning with HFJS in parallel. Could you please specify what you are missing so that it might be helpful

ok, the information given in book is satisfactory but the missing things are:

1. clarity
2. the chapters are misordered, such as, I would wish listeners were explained in same chapter, then we have difficulty to gather information about HttpServletRequest, or ServletRequest in one place.
3. Few details are missed in the book, if you would like to know which those are, browse the forum here. Those information are given more in the JWebPlus, mock exams of MAnning.
4. There are not enough questions in the book about new features of SCWCD such as tag files, EL, JSTL.

These are my remarks, so I panic, I don't want to miss anything, that's why I asked HFSJ, to underline what I have not seen in Manning.

My final remark is, as a person who studied both with Manning and Sierra & Bates books, for the Sun exam tracks, I will definitely study with Bates & Sierra books from later on.

I also studied previous version of SCWCD with "Professional SCWCD", it is also better guide than Manning. Manning book just gave me an impression that it is prepared quickly without neat. Information given in there is untidy.

No, I am talking about new book of Manning.

Anyway, guys, Manning book won't lead me to failure I know that, it is good book with good information. I just want to state my preference on Sierra & Bates. Good luck for everybody.

I've only read the Second Edition of Manning's book.
I have decided to read the Servlet/JSP/JSTL specs because there were many errors in the book. But I don't feel like reading HF would help anymore now. (I personnally don't feel like reading another 800 pages brick ) Read through the specs and good luck for your exam.

Satou,
you are right. I am going to read the specs as well. It is tiring to read something you already know, especially within 800 instructive pages.
Thank you for your idea. And thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts with me in this feed.

And by the way, you should check Manning's forum (Author Online, not the errata page which has not been updated for a while) for the errata.
Most of them where listed here

Obviously, you post states that you want to buy the electronic version, which is good, and I don't think you are actually requesting to get copywrited material for free, which of course, is illegal.

But just in case I removed your email address, and remind everyone to be careful.

Thanks guys.

Oh, the electronic version is not for sale.
