For the last few days, I've been having problems connecting to JavaRanch at times. It either won't come up, or it will say it's busy or you're tuning the site. Is anything wrong?
I must say that I get the "Sorry, but the Ranch is quite busy right now. Please try again in a few minutes" message a lot lately. Starting to become annoying. How long until Jive is up and running? Are these problems going to go away once the Jive forum is up and running? Jamie [just got a gateway timeout trying to post this ] [just got a gateway timeout trying to post this again ] [just got a gateway timeout trying to post this again ] ...etc OK, now I'm hoping to get the "Sorry, but the Ranch is quite busy..." message as the gateway timeout one is getting old. been waiting over 4 hours to post this one!
Also, EJIP (our provider) has been relocating a lot of current Ranch stuff to a bigger box, in hopes that this will alleviate the mysterious problems we've been having. Possibly this morning's problems were related to reconfiguring the server. Or maybe it has nothing to do with box size, and UBB just can't handle the size our forums have grown to. (A major incentive to move to Jive.) There are a number of things going on; it's hard to keep track of them all. Fortunately JiveMaster Thomas and his crew seem to have cleared most of the issues we'd had with Jive, and it looks like that move will indeed be happening soon. We may have a bumpy ride during the next few weeks, but stay with us; it'll be sorted out soon...

Almost forgot - the new official JavaRanch response to all questions of this sort: Map broke it.

Except that Jive doesn't work on the production box.
