Which web component exam?

Hi all,

I have passed my 1.5 programmer exam and would like to take the web component exam next. However, I found that it is only for J2EE 1.4. Is there any exam coming up for the 1.5 stuff?

Also which book would you recommend to read for the exam.

Many thx

I found that it is only for J2EE 1.4

Hi, I'm a certified WCD but only for J2EE 1.4.

There's been some talking at the forum. Rumors tell that there could be an update in September. Nothing official. You won't find books soon anyway.

For the actual exam(1.4 only!), most people recommend reading Head First Servlets and JSP.

Have fun.

The SCWCD exam covers the latest finalized J2EE version: 1.4. The SCJP exam you took covers J2SE 1.5 (aka 5.0).

The next version of the J2EE spec (Java EE 5) has not been finalized yet. I expect it will be a few months after the spec is finalized before Sun updates the exam.

The JSR for Java EE 5 is here.

I agree with Satou on the book recommendation. HFSJ is the best book for the SCWCD.

I agree. Here's the link:
