Firstly, many thanks to all the people contributing here. Here is a list of the key points I will use for any later certifications: 1. Get two books. While I used the HF book as my primary book I also read the manning book (SCWCD) as well. While I downloaded the specs I did not read them cover to cover, just for any detail not in the two books. 2. Do lots of mocks. I used the J2EE Certificate site (free) and the Whizlab exams. The nature of the Whizlabs exams were closer to the real test but they are not free - although my work paid for them 3. Join a study group. At work we had a weekly meeting (although this fizzled out due to project demands) 4. This newsgroup. Very friendly people 5. Did a little model job (I had done some Web app work before but on an older version of the spec). This allowed me to cover things I had not done before and topics I was not too sure on just by reading.
